Who we are

The study group “Arbeitsgemeinschaft Rumänien” was founded 1969 and celebrated its 50th birthday in 2019. Each friend of Romanian Philately in general is welcomed to join us as a member. We try to promote philately in enlarging the knowledge about the topic and about postal history with information and by sharing our knowledge. On the occasion of meetings we try to strenghten our unity and the friendship among the members.

We all wish you a happy (peaceful!) New Year and look forward to see you all at the EFIRO in Bukarest!

Where and when we meet

The study group is managed by a managing board that fundamentally is elected for three years. Once per year the board renders account on the business of the study group (annual report and annual statement of accounts). The members can accept or decline the management of the board at the general meeting. Furthermore they may elect a new board and execute or improve important business matters. The general meetings are intended to be meetings in presence, and they have to be announced in due time.

The board tries to organise the meeting at a place which is attractive for the members, if possible in connection to a philatelic exhibition. The business part of the general meeting should only require a small part of the event; philatelic lectures, combined with cultural and social events should be more important. The next meetings should generally be announced early in the year (6 months in advance).
